Megaman 3 for the PC is one of - nay - THE best Megaman game Capcom has produced. Do not me fooled by the graphics, sound, and gameplay. They were actually very good at the time. Capcom has tried in vain lo, these many years, to live up to the greatness that was the third MM game for the PC. So spectacular was Megaman 3 that Capcom even attempted to trick the consumer by making another game with the same title in hopes that it would increase sales. However any true fan knows that other Megaman 3 was not even canon! It was an elaborate lie and a pale comparison to the one true Megaman 3. This one. The one for the PC. This is the one true Megaman 3 as we are the one true Megaman 3 team.
The greatest aspect of Megaman 3 was its outstanding challenge to the gamer. All other Megaman games were designed for children and made pitifully easy. It is boring and unfulfilling how easy those other Megaman games. Megaman 3 for the PC was designed for a higher breed of gamers, only those of us with competence, patience, and skill have what it takes to master this epitome of side-scrolling action. So great is the challenge of Megaman 3 PC, one requires intense time and effort simply to find, run, calibrate, and debug the game before the actual gameplay even starts! With other Megaman games, one only needs to insert a cartridge into a machine and press a button. Where is the fun in that? Nowhere. For Megaman 3 PC, the one true Megaman 3, getting started is an adventure in and of itself!
First, you must acquire the game. Due to its monumental high popularity when it was originally released, Megaman 3 PC is nigh-impossible to find today! Those who were lucky enough to find it bought dozens of extra copies for themselves and are fiercely possessive of them, refusing to re-sell them on eBay or even let anybody know they have them. Even though the disk is worth millions of dollars these days, the game is so beloved by its owners they refuse to give it up for anything. In fact, to my knowledge, there is only one place that you can download Megaman 3 PC off the net...for FREE! That's right, the greatest Megaman game of all time, and it is exclusively available right here! Nowhere else! Gaze upon my generosity and despair!
Isn't Torchman GENEROUS???
Yes! Yes I am!
Of course, not everyone is blessed with my amazing skills, and many of you are likely not up to the challenge of conquering this game on your own. Do not despair, for I shall take it upon myself to donate my knowledge so that others may experience the full glory of this wonderful game! Thus begins the Megaman 3 walkthrough! By me! Torchman!
Getting Started
You will need a program called DosBox to run the game properly. The archive contains an executable file that you can run directly, but if you do, the game will not work. Getting around problems like that is half the fun! Don't get too excited though, the fun is just beginning! Once you've installed Dosbox and unzipped the game. Start Dosbox and type "intro" so it can tell you what to do from there. Do not look to me. I said would donate my knowledge only because no one else has achieved mastery of this game enough to write a walkthrough of their own. As DosBox has its own walkthrough, I do not need to say anything. All I will say is that the procedure involves mounting, changing, and running. Thus, it is essentially like making love, from what I've heard. You have to do this every time you start the game, so get used to it. It may seem like a tedious hassle at first, but you will learn to love it! For after the array of dos prompts and typing, you will be awarded your coveted prize! The greatest game in the Megaman series! The one true Megaman 3!
First you have to set up the game though, or it will still not function properly. Yes, you have to do this every time you start the game, and if you forget, the game will essentially be frozen, and you will have to exit and restart from the beginning again. This is all part of the exciting challenge that makes up the fun of the game! What is important is that you choose EGA for Graphics card and turn Joystick off. Failure to comply with my instructions will be your own downfall.
Behold! It is we! Yes, as I am sure you must have realized by now, you are playing as that blue runt Megaman in his quest to defeat us, the one true Megaman 3 team. You can tell this is the one true Megaman 3 due to the logo in the background. Would an unofficial game have "MEGA MAN III" in the background? I think not. Now you are most likely terrified at this point as you are realizing you must eventually face the Sinister Six in battle. Therein lies the true challenge of this expert-level difficulty game. Fear not! For you have Torchman himself as your guide, and though you may think I have reservations about telling strangers how to defeat my own team, you are a fool, for this game chronicles events of the past, and we are stronger than ever today. If you somehow manage to overcome the challenge before you, you will have my respect, but not my fear, for the student must come a long way to surpass the master.
As with any Megaman game, there is a recommended order due to the fact each one of us is weak to another's weapon. Obviously, as I am the strongest, it would be wise to attempt the great Torchman last. However, as Waveman is the weakest, he is recomended first, and I am inexplicably weak against his weapon, meaning I come second in the order. Clearly, you dread the impending fight of your life, but that is all part of the challenge. If it is any consolation, know that early defeat of my weaker past self will mean early access to the might Torch Arm! Perhaps that has roused you slightly from your frightened stupor. Do not rejoice yet, the first step is to defeat Waveman, so select his mugshot to begin!
Oil Tanker Stage - Waveman!
By now you are likely noticing the amazingly high frame rate and how lightning fast everything moves. That is because this game was designed for brilliant gaming experts with inhuman reflexes such as myself. Should I desire, I could even increase the speed further by pressing ctrl+F12, but you mere mortals will more likely want to press ctrl+F11 to slow things down. It appears when the number on the top of the DosBox window gets down to somewhere between 1300 and 1100, the speed is closer to that of other, inferior Megaman games. As far as any of you know, I shall continue to play at a speed of 3000 - nay, 5000! For my reflexes are just that impressive!
If you go down into the water, you will find that Megaman can swim! Yes, years before Megaman 8, the blue twerp had this revolutionary ability in the one true Megaman 3! Only in this game his swimming is far more realistic. Instead of sinking to the bottom like a rock, Megaman will constantly float upwards unless you continually to force him to swim downwards. Do not be fooled by the concept of a metallic robot being heavier than water, as you can plainly see, Megaman is a small runt of a robot, therefore science dictates that he will quickly float to the surface unless he struggles to sink. This changes when Megaman touches the bottom of a body of water, wherein he can stand and walk as if he were on dry land. This is because his feet have magnets and the ground is metallic, even when it does not look like it. It is very realistic you see. Furthermore, just like in real life, it is nearly impossible to control Megaman while he is swimming. As very little friction exists under water, Megaman will continue to move in the direction you point him in even when you don't want him to. Especially when you don't want him to! This is all part of the challenge! It is fun!
There is not much besides murderous mutant sea creatures and an energy pellet in the water. In the lower left corner there is a pipe extending below the ship that leads directly to Waveman's cry room. It may seem tantalizingly close, but you must go the long way through the ship itself to reach it. You did not think it would be so easy, did you? Fool! Climb back up the ladder to where you entered the stage and head upwards!
The path above the desk of the ship is direct, but fraught with danger. You will have to face the deadly Toxman, and Bees! You must be brave and persevere, however. The challenge has barely begun! Eventually, you will find yourself in the dark bowels of the ship. The wall guns and oil drums that drip lava for some reason can not be destroyed. You must learn to avoid their relentless assaults. The lakes of fire will not instantly destroy the wimpy blue bomber like in Megaman 6, but the will continually damage him greatly and there's nothing you can do about it.
When you eventually make your way above deck again, try to head up past the Gunner to find an Extra Life I'm sure you are in dire need of by now. You have likely noticed that if you receive damage when hanging from a ladder or standing on a platform that you can jump through the bottom of, you will be knocked off. Likely into a pit of fire. How delightfully challenging! This is especially challenging when you must climb these ladders and semi-solid platforms amidst those formidable wall guns. That is why even I, the great Torchman, am low on health in this picture. You must have died several times already yourself. On the bright side, you will notice that enemies do not re-spawn as in other Megaman games, even when you die. Only if you run out of extra lives and are forced to restart the stage will enemies and power-ups be replaced.
When you head back down, you will eventually find these pistons, indicating you are close to your goal. If you are feeling bold, you may attempt to traverse the top of the pistons and acquire an E-Tank. You will certainly die, crushed by the pistons, however. If not before you get the E-Tank, certainly on the way back. Then, after another grueling battle towards the right end of the ship, you will at last find the pipeline leading to Waveman! Fight past the last two Gunners and pass through the bulkhead (so much better than the shutters in other Megaman games, certainly!) to face the first of the Sinister Six!
Hmm, his walls are painted pitch black. I forgot how emo Waveman was, even back then. He was also a pushover, however. For most of the battle he only jumps around, occasionally sprinkling water droplets in all directions. As long as you keep your distance, you will not be dampened by his pathetic power. You must defeat him quickly however, for when his health is low, he will unleash an unusually large amount of water from his chest...hole...things, and flood the battlefield. It will be more difficult to dodge him underwater, but he also will not be able to shoot water at you unless you surface. You will only have to worry about collisions at this point. Also look out for his more rare water-based attacks in the dry phase. He may shoot water droplets at you directly while standing, much like Megaman's version of the Water Shooter. More bothersome is the spouts of water that will occasionally burst from the floor beneath Megaman's feet. Capcom re-used that same attack for their second Waveman in Megaman 5. They just could not make him live up to the original, however.
When you win, you will be awarded the pathetic Water Shooter. Congratulations. Pathetic as it is, it is somehow the bane of my, Torchman's existence. So you must now select my mugshot to continue.
City Sewer System Stage - Torchman!
Yes, my stage is a sewer. It is full of water while Waveman's stage was full of fire. It is ingenious as it keeps our enemies guessing! What is more ingenious is the maze-like structure of these sewers. Many a well-adjusted scholar has been driven to madness by the endlessly looping tunnels. You would not stand a chance if not for me, your invaluable guide. Head to the right, battling through the Toxman and the Flytrap. Take the upper pipe and make sure to avoid the wallgun and be careful not to fall down the pit when you take on the Toxman on the other side.
Astounding! A three-way fork in the road so close to the start! Now I happen to know for a fact that my chamber is in the upper-right corner of the map, so clearly the top path is the correct one, however it is currently out of reach. No cheating Rush Coil to rely on in this game! You must take the second most obvious path, which lies just below the Gunner. Ignore the ladder you see at the bottom and climb up towards the right. You will have to fight a Gunner at the top of the ladder you come to. After that, jump down into the chamber behind him to find another big fork in the road.
As you can see, it looks very similar to the last three-way fork, but this time you came from...wait a minute, this is the same room. Aha! Of course. That ladder I told you to ignore before? You were actually supposed to take it downwards. It still eventually heads to the right, however. At the bottom of the ladder, you will end up in a pool that will lead to the left. Defeat the enemies in your path and continue left.
Wait...that's not right. Okay, head back to the right. Climb the ladder, and back into the room where the paths split.
Okay, so the lower right leads to the upper right and the other leads to a dead-end...okay, I got it! Head further to the left, back where you came! Remember to avoid the wallgun. It seems you were supposed to take the lower pipe back at the start, not the upper one. Easy mistake to make.
Okay, down here the path splits four ways. I remember the trick now. Even though my chamber is in the upper right, you must first head downwards. Take the pipe leading down here. It will lead to the right where you will come to a drainage pool. Climb upwards from there and head towards the right. You will eventually come to...
What?...No...No! This shouldn't be! Okay, head back to the start. Avoid that intolerable wallgun! Get back to the four-way fork!
Right! That was the down part! You are only supposed to move right from here! Avoid that Gemini Laser WallGun, it might knock you down the other pipe and you know what happens then. Defeat the Toxman and get onto the ledge.
I mean go up the ladder! The ladder!
Wha!? But...there's nowhere else...uh...of course! I nearly forgot! I didn't take that third pipe in the first screenshot yet! Go back down the bottom pipe and come back up to here.
...Right, this room again. Jump down the pipe on the left.
Wait! No!...I needed that...I really did. Oh well, the energy pellet is irrelevant. What matters is that we are finally on the correct path. Continue left until...
...
...You see...my stage is so ingeniously maze-like...that...THIS is what it is like for unwitting fools like you to attempt to navigate it! Of course I know the way through my own level, but I felt the need to illustrate what it is like for others who are not me to attempt it on their own. On an unrelated matter, I shall now turn the walkthrough over to Oilman. It was my original intention for us to take turns writing this walkthrough, and since I have already done both the startup and Waveman's stage, now seems as good a time as any to tag in my co-writer. He will not be as effective as myself, but try to bear with him.
Yeah, hello everyone. Oilman here. Torch wanted me to finish the level for him again. He always asks for my help at this part. I don't know why he keeps forgetting all he has to do is head left at the beginning. Anyway, the correct path from the start is down, right, down, left, down, right, up, up the long ladder, right, down the long pipe adjacent the long ladder, but press right against the wall to get into the niche on the right side. Then just keep heading right until you get to the long vertical corridor. It's tough avoiding the wallguns while climbing up, but there's no other way. Ignore all side paths and head right when you get to the top. When you drop down the pipe at the end, hold right and if you're lucky you won't run face first into the Snapdragons on the platforms you're trying to land on. Otherwise you'll have to go down the ladder the long way to get back up the long way. Head right and up the ladders and eventually you'll find Torch's bulkhead.
Thank you, Oil, I shall take over from here. It is my fight after all. And for the record, I have never needed you to show me how to get past that part, I was merely testing you to see if YOU knew how!
You should equip the Water Shooter as soon as possible, it is the only way you will stand a chance! I will unleash a barrage of fireballs from my Torch Arm at every opportunity. If you are foolish enough to try jumping over me, I will scorch you from below with a wide sweep of flame!
Hey, you don't fight like that at all. All you do is jump around and occasionally shoot a single fireball. Neither of those moves exist in this game.
LIES! I do that flame sweep move all the time!
...rriiight...And one thing I've never understood, if your weakness is water, why the hell is your chamber filled waist-deep with it?
Imbecile! Have you heard nothing I've said? It is all part of the challenge! No opponent would stand a chance against me if I did not handicap myself by surrounding myself with my greatest weakness!
That's incredibly asinine. Anyway, if you pelt him with Water Shooter enough, you'll defeat him and you can pick up the Torch Arm. Bitman's next.
Oil Rig Stage - Bitman!
What are you still doing here anyway? I told you your work is completed. I can handle the rest myself.
What happened to this "switching off" plan of yours?
I'll call you when I need you! Now then player, start by heading to the right...
There's nothing but a bottomless pit to the right!
Megaman's right! Your left, of course! There are a lot of pipes dripping a grey liquid here. It is similar to the oil drums that leak lava in Waveman's stage.
The grey liquid is probably oil. There are a lot of oil drums around this stage too. Oil seems to play a big part in this game, not that I'm complaining.
Hmph! Head left through the burning building until you're outside again. You can get an energy pellet by heading down and an extra life by heading up and across the roof back to the beginning. These are all distractions however, the true path is back into the burning building via the ladder just below the one you exited from. The maze-ness of Bitman's stage is nothing compared to that of my own! Head right through the building's middle floor until you are outside again. There is an energy pellet towards the right fiercely guarded by a Toxman, a Mosquito, and a Bee! It is not worth the pain! Head downwards until you reach the building's basement.
Beware! As the signs clearly say, "Open Hole"!
Looks like "Opcn Holc". Obviously, you have to be very careful jumping across these platforms, a fall will be the end of you. Surprise surprise, Torch feels now is the appropriate time to hand the controls to me. Continuing left you'll eventually reach a spinning pole thing. I guess it's an oil drill or something, and apparently you can't jump past it, you have to climb up the ridiculously long ladder then head back down the other side. The top of the pole can be walked by with ease for some reason. After going down, head left and enter the next building. Then head up, left across the fire pit, then down and right across another fire pit. Then left, fire pit, right, fire pit...damn these stages are long and tedious.
Challenging! You will eventually make it to the bottom of the left side of that spinning pipe. You will have to jump across another set of small platforms over an open pit. There is an E-Tank here you can grab.
Actually, I am fairly certain that E-Tank is unreachable for some reason. Not only is it too high to jump to, but there's some kind of invisible wall blocking it.
Hah! You obviously just do not have the skills to acquire it!
Go ahead, try to grab it right now.
...I have no need for E-Tanks! They are for the weak! Continue left and climb the very long ladder to reach Bitman's chamber.
Like his predecessor Voltman, Bitman is invincible when protecting himself with his electric force field! You must wait for him to launch his Bit Cannon and begin charging for your chance to attack. A few good hits with the mighty Torch Arm is all it takes. Look out for falling debris when Bitman rams the wall. And don't let the electricity touch you or Megaman will become paralyzed.
Bitman kinda lucked out in this game. The rest of us just got one attack each. Even though Bit technically has just one move, there are three stages to it, so he comes off looking more like a regular Robot Master.
Have you not been paying attention? We have all had at least three attacks thus far! And observe, when Bitman's health is low, he will no longer be docile when hiding behind his shield, he will shoot lightning into the ceiling, causing numerous tiles to fall, and an additional lightning bolt will strike down on Megaman. Truly a formidable desperation move!
It's not that I'm accusing you of doctoring the screenshots. I don't think you even know how to do that. But someone obviously is. Who did you get to forge these?
I do not know what you are talking about. Now once Bitman is burned to a pile of scrap, gain his Bit Cannon weapon and continue to Blademan's stage!
Sewer Water Treatment Stage - Blademan!
It's another annoying maze-like stage. To make things worse, this one is mostly underwater, so it involves a lot of uncontrollable swimming. I'll dispense the directions right now so Torch doesn't lead everyone around in circles for hours again. Head to the left-most water tank and down the pipe, take a left when the pipe splits. Avoid those spinning spike bars. Just ignore the Toxman and the Anenemy, they're guarding nothing and it's far too much trouble to try and kill them. Keep heading downwards.
This part is tricky. You have to get between those spike bars. Easier said than done with the swimming controls being so touchy.
Luckily, you don't actually have to get between those spikes. There's nothing down there besides an energy pellet.
An energy pellet that will be much welcomed after losing so much energy getting between the spikes!
...Just head through the upper left pipe here. There's an E-Tank to pick up along the way. There's more spike poles above and below, but it's a lot easier to control your vertical movement while swimming than your horizontal movement. When the pipe splits again, go upwards towards the top. You'll briefly surface just to the left of the water tanks at the beginning. The level designers sure liked to make full use of map area in this game.
That is what makes it so ingenious! Go back down through the water tank to the left. Keep heading downwards, possibly picking up the energy pellets along the way. They are on less of a detour than in other areas! When you reach the particularly large toxic barrel-filled room, go up the pipe to the left, looking out for the Toxman and Fishman at the top. If you are wondering why there are so many barrels of poison and toxic robots around a water refinery, it is because evil is afoot! Keep heading up to the surface again and left into the building.
The water below is infested with Nautili and Clams, you have to jump across the tiny platforms to continue safely.
If you do land in the water, just stay close to the surface and the enemies will ignore you for some reason. When you head down into the tunnels things get a lot more straight-forward, but still long, boring, and tedious. After one more short swim through the water, you'll find Blade's bulkhead.
Blade's Blade Shooter can be a little harder to dodge since it hits both high and low, but they get farther apart as they fly, so the more distance you put between you and Blademan, the easier it will be to get between hit projectiles. Pummel him with Bit Cannon. That's all...unless Torch has any extra powers to add...
You are obviously cheating every time you play this game, otherwise you would know that Blademan will attempt to slice and dice you at close range with a larger arm-mounted blade attack if you get to close. And when his health is low, look out for when he summons his massive sword! You did not think a Robot Master called "Blademan" would not have a sword in his arsenal, did you? All the fan-made Blademen wield swords, it only makes sense. And that's another thing, why do Megaman fans keep making unofficial characters called Blademan? There is already a superior official one!
Uh huh...whatever. Beat Blademan, get Blade Launcher. That means I'm next.
Oil Refinery Stage - Oilman!
Unlike the other guys, I have a pretty straight-forward level. Head up, into the building to the right, and up until you get to upper level of the exterior of the Refinery.
It's possible to jump from the top of the ladder out here over the oil drums blocking off the rest of the roof to the right, but this is an overlooked open boundary the level designers missed. There's nothing over there but left-over parts of the level and you'll be trapped there.
Witless, as always. The truth is that there is a hidden Dr.Light Capsule over there that will grant you amazing power-ups. You merely have not found it yet because you lack the skills to make it appear!
Come on, It's not even an X-series game...Okay, y'know what? I'm going to call it a night. I'll let you go explore over there and catch up with you tomorrow.
Feh! I will have beaten the game by then! Especially with the power-ups I'm about to gain!
Uh huh. Just remember that there's no saving system, so if you quit the game, not only will you have to go through the Dosbox setup again, but you'll have to go through the first four stages all over again. 'Night.
I thought he would never leave. Now then, nubile gamer, follow me over the mountainous oil drums, to victory!
Now then, of course I...um...oh...
...
...
...
...
'Morning. You been sitting here all night staring at that screen?
...
Well, go to the menu and press F10.
Huh?...Uh...Very well...Hey! That killed me! What kind of insipid moron...oh.
Yeah, the "kill yourself" button has at least one use. It gets you back to where you started so you don't have to start the whole game over from a situation like that. Guess I should have mentioned that last night, huh?
...you...
Well, since this is my stage, and you look really tired, I'll finish the walkthrough from here. Just keep heading left over the high platforms. There are no open pits; falling down just means a longer way to got and more enemies to fight through. When you reach the dark building head downwards and at the bottom exit right. Then keep going until you find a spot where the oil empties into the sewer. Then it's a short jaunt through to the left until you reach my chamber.
Your best chance is to get close and fire Blade Launcher, hitting me with all three blades simultaneously will do a lot of damage. Just don't use Torch Arm, or you'll ignite the oil in my room and it'll only hurt yourself. At first I will only do as the rest of the majority of the S6 and just jump around, occasionally firing my Oil Stream. But when you get me mad, watch out for my Oil Slider. You won't be able to go over OR under me while I'm sliding on the surface of the oil filling my room. When I'm low on health I'll fire larger streams of oil that will only be harder to avoid.
...Are you wearing a scarf in those pictures?
It was a little chilly in there. Anyway, defeat me and you can pick up my Oil Stream. That just leaves Sharkman.
Deep Ocean Stage - Sharkman!
I cannot believe you went and made up a better battle style for yourself after all the grief you gave me for doing that!
Care to repeat that?
I mean...yes...a fine battle. Just as I remember it. Moving on. The entirety of Sharkman's stage is in the water. It appears to be a remote area of the deep ocean, with the only distinctive man-made feature being a sunken galleon. It is hard to imagine what kind of nefarious plot one could hatch from such a remote, irrelevant location. Although there are plenty of mutants and toxic waste barrels so I suppose it has something to do with pollution. This is a very eco-conscious game, you see.
You've gotta be pretty bored with the long-ass stages in this game by now. Luckily, there are plenty of big open spaces in this level that cut down on zig-zagging and maze-like passages. There's a handy shortcut right at the start where you can just swim right over the surface of the water, then head straight down when you hit the wall and enter the sunken ship. This bypasses a whole swarm of enemies at the beginning that the game designers apparently figured you were stupid enough to fight through for no reason.
Hmph. You do not respect the challenge of this game. Fight your way left through the sunken ship and into the maze of the underwater cave beneath it.
Yeah, sorry. I said the stage cut down on the stupid mazes, it didn't let them go entirely. There are stalactites lining the ceiling of the cave that act as spikes. They won't kill you immediately, but avoid them nonetheless. At the first fork go right. At the next fork take the lower right.
Do not forget about the barrel that makes Megaman disappear in that room!
It's just a dumb graphical glitch.
Easter Egg! It is called an Easter Egg! It is a reward for the diligent explorer!
Right, awesome reward. Could we get this over with already? From here the cave gets a lot more straight-forward. When the path finally splits again, go up and you'll end up in another big, wide-open space. This part is swarming with Nautili. It's best to avoid them and just swim quickly towards the right until you find the next network of caves. May want to pick up the E-Tank here. Just inside the entrance there's a fork in the road. Go up. Ignore all other forks and keep going straight up into the next open area. You're back at the surface level, so like at the beginning, you can float to the top and then swim straight left to the boss chamber and avoid all the enemies.
There were not any screenshots for the rest of the stage...
The rest of the stage is too boring. Besides, we're into golden time here. Go ahead and tell us about what Sharkman is capable of. I had nothing to do with this one.
Stop saying things like that, hypocrite. Now then, Sharkman's room is filled with water, just like the rest of the stage, so maneuvering is difficult. The floor and ceiling is patrolled by razor-sharp dorsal fins, so you will want to avoid that area. Sharkman will swim around and occasionally throw his Shark Boomerang, which will go right up to where Megaman is before it turns back on its flight path. Look out for collisions with Sharkman too, because he will attempt to bite you with the powerful jaws of his helmet! Oil him up with Oil Stream and gain his weapon. Now you can finally take on Wily's fortress!
Skull Castle Stage - The Final Battle!
This should make you anti-challenge wimps happy. There is little to no maze structure in the final stage.
Yeah, the road is pretty direct. This is largely because you have to go through all six of us again and there's not much room for pointless side-trips. What the last level lacks in boring wandering, it makes up for in really annoying deathtraps.
See that green substance? It will kill Megaman instantly if he touches it! Even if he was just hit and should be invincible. Especially when he was just hit and should be invincible! So for those of you keeping track, bubbling green liquid is more deadly than spikes, fire pits, and lava combined in this game.
The first boss is Bitman. Wait for your opening and Torch Arm him to ashes. No green goop in the next little stretch, just a bunch of annoying enemies. Number two is Sharkman. Oil Stream him to slippery death. After exiting his chamber. A propeller thing will shoot Megaman up to the next floor.
It's fun. Those lousy level designers should have included more than just that one. This stretch includes a little side-trip to get an energy pellet. You'll probably lose more health getting it than it recovers. Get to the ladder in the upper left.
How wonderfully challenging! Waveman is the next boss. This time, you have Shark Boomerang to make things even easier than before!
Be sure to equip Shark Boomerang again when picking up any weapon capsules for a while, the weapon will be useful in the final battle as well. The next stretch has two side-trips. One for an extra life, and one for an energy pellet, but as before, the true path is in the upper left. Press forward! You are halfway there! Oilman is next. Blade Launcher will dispatch him almost instantly.
Go up right after you're done with me again. There's an E-Tank that's only guarded by a Helmet and two Laser Guns, it's easy to grab and will be helpful at the end. When you head back down, be sure to hug the right wall so you don't fall into the deadly acid below the bottom of the screen. After some more nerve-wracking acid hopping. Go an electrocute Blademan again. Try to save some Bit Cannon for the final battle though.
After that, head left then down. There's a side-trip up the platforms, but there's just an energy pellet up there and again, you'll lose more energy than you'll gain. Torchman's all that's left before Wily.
Use everything you have learned from my tutelage to overcome this greatest of trials. Crorq is in the very next room, so you should read Bit Cannon to deal with it.
As you can see, the battlefield is littered with traps and lesser enemies, to make dodging Crorq's stomping and lasers that much more difficult. On the bright side, there are power-ups to help you along. You will need all the help you can get as you approach the end. Electrocute the Super Computer that took control of us, the Sinister Six for evil, and bring justice to your fallen heroes!
I've always wondered who was driving that thing this time.
Wily, of course. Simpleton.
Wily's in the next room, genius.
Oh, I thought you meant MM1PC. The one driving this Crorq is obviously...Dr.Cossack.
What?
With Crorq vanquished, all his traps will be deactivated. Take any power-ups that remain and pass through the bulkheads to the final room, to do battle with Dr.Wily himself!
Use Water Shooter to crack the dome while dodging the laser beams from the floor. These lasers are so saturated with destructive force, that they are heavy and are affected by gravity! You will have to dodge not only the shots coming from beneath your feet, but the ones falling from above as well!
I wish you were making that part up. When the dome cracks, things don't change much, but his weakness is now Shark Boomerang. I don't know how he survives dipping himself under the acid like that, but it pisses me off when it kills Megaman with one touch.
Wily has a special acid-resistant lab coat! As one added special challenge, the lasers from the floor will be replaced by the weapons of the Sinister Six! The element that bursts from beneath your feet is random, so you will never know what to expect. I hope for your sake you saved that E-Tank!
Are you going to make up a better ending or is this one-lousy-screen-before-quitting-to-dos in your delusional MM3PC as well?
I refuse to acknowledge your negativity! As I have said countless times, this game is all about the challenge. A fancy ending is not required, the true reward is the feeling of accomplishment that comes from the knowledge you had the skills to conquer such an exciting struggle of a game!
Well, where's mine then? The only feeling I have is this soul-crushing boredom and the feeling I wasted several hours of my life playing a game that didn't even have music.
There was music! Are you deaf? Perhaps your sound card was not properly calibrated.
We were using the same computer, and all I heard were annoying PC Speaker sounds.
You do not appreciate the true genius of this perfect game! Walkthrough over!
