So Long, Blogger

I just got an e-mail from Blogger and it seems that they're shutting down FTP support for their blogs on the 22nd. What does that mean for the Mechs? Well, no more Blogger, that's what it means! I'm pretty annoyed by it since I had to make a whole new layout that accounted for Blogger's backwards policy of uploading actual HTML files onto the site (rather than have database support or something). It was tricky and annoying, but it was done. And now it's over. Ah, well. Look forward to a new blog format in the near future.

In the meantime, this last post from Blogger will feature some more art from the archives of Gauntlet! It seems I missed a couple of gift art things as well (sorry, guys!). Well, here they are, alongside some more 'Maniacs art.

More MMPC3 Superadventure mugs by discoduderock.

Shadowman VS Shadowman by Glider.

A small sprite of the super computer Crorq featuring custom emoticons made for the MM3 forum. By Snakeman (Raijin).

MM Team girls by Cyros

A bigger version of "Who is holding my hand?" by Spark Chan (Classi).

A few of Topman's sketches.

The design choices for the shirts worn on the first 'Maniacs Meet (and every other one too, but mostly the first).

A sketch of the Mesmerman crew. It looks better in full size...

An unused idea for the 'Maniacs logo.

To view previous gift art submissions see the Miscellaneous Sprite Gallery and for more 'Maniacs art see the Team Galleries.

Gift Stuff

Top feels bad that nobody notices he changedback to his TM armor. Y'know, since the 8-bit sprite looks almost exactly the same as his previous look. Once more, using some old gift art submissions to do the comic.

Speaking of which ...

I've actually been quite remiss in my guift art submissions. I have a couple that I could have posted over the .... well, years. Small stuff, but worth it. So, no more waiting, let's see them here!

Bizarro Shadowman threatening an injured Megaman, by Ace Spark.

Shadowman in his Transmetal 2 armor. By Cyros.

A Scissor Joe, from the Business of War. By Cyros.

The Mechanical Maniacs in their "Transmetal 8" armors, obviously inspired by the X series. By Yllisis Zanon.

Needlegal in her Transmetal 2 armor in 8-bits! By Megaman N.

NES-colored MM3 DOS mugshots by MM19872008.

A small 'Maniacs Moments inspired sprite comic by GaiaX6.

Mesmerman by Cyros.

"Fused Shadowman" by Chaos Wolf.

Thanks for all the submission, guys! Uh .... sorry it took so long to put them up. To view more fan submission see the Miscellaneous Sprite Gallery and the Gift Art Gallery.

Music Video

Oh my, it looks like something broke there.

This is one update long in the making. Made in Flash CS4, which is atrociously slow. So slow that it stalled this video for many, many months. A recent update made it fast enough to use and, after I got it, finished this within mere weeks. Although this was made in Flash, large, LARGE use of bitmaps made parts of this choppy on the first run. So I converted it to an avi for viewing. Incidentally, this is the "secret project" I mentioned on Deviant Art a while back.

A tribute to one of the last games in the entire Megaman series that probably deserves it: Megaman 3 PC. Misfits and Mistakes. Regular and Meatwad versions.

AXE Reading, Art

The new Annihilation story finally gets its second installment. It's a big one. New artwork from Crys and another Inter-Mission comic as well. Gauntlet also upgraded our navigation bar last week. Now you can know when it's working.

ANEW's Stat Generator

What, something from me that isn't about pirate games? You bet! That's not quite done yet, but I got sidetracked into making a Statistic Generator for Rich's (Magnet's) Project ANEW. It's an app that'll make his life a whole lot easier.

I've also moved the Flash app stuff over to my Flash Gallery. Most of it has to do with the Business of War from a few years ago. Oh, the memories...

AXE's EXE3 Walkthrough, art, comic

I've been spending the last month and a half finishing up the walkthrough, at least the storyline part. All nine chapters have been finished. There were ten chapters before, but that was just so it would match up with VI's EXE1 walkthrough, which is also numbered wrong. I just combined the "Helping Tora" and the "Plantman" scenarios as originally intended. Now I just need to add supplementary pages for the walkthrough, which shouldn't take much longer. I already have most of the data, just need to organize it.

Also updated today are Akutare's and Beastman's art galleries. My embarassing Inter-Mission comic experiment continues with no discernible improvement, except perhaps in the lettering department.

AXE Art, EXE3, Navi Marks, and Comic

Annihilation updates again with stuff in the art gallery, new sprites in Drill's and Beast's bios, and an in-depth guide to Bubbleman's scenario in the walkthrough.

There's a big update and overhaul to the Navi Marks Gallery. Now's definitely the time for your own submissions, since I've pretty much wrapped up the official portion of the project, added a template and guide, and revealed some of the very unorthodox symbols from various outside inspirations I've made over the years.

Then, to top it all off, there's a very special Inter-Mission...in comic form. DRAWN comic form! Crappily drawn at the last minute using an old script by Nijubu and full of amateurish mistakes since I haven't drawn a comic in years and was never very good at it to begin with drawn comic form, but drawn comic form nonetheless. Drawing a regular comic series is something I've been wanting to do for the longest time, and now I'm finally taking the first steps towards it.

Navi Icons and more AXE

I've been cranking out a lot of images for the BN3 team lately. See the latest additions to my gallery and the remastered items on the Navi Icons page. Also FlameChick no longer has to be represented by the images of her male counterpart, as I have built a set of sprites, a mugshot, and a chip image in her own likeness. They can all be found on her bio page.

New Sprite Sheet

More sprites for the Megaman PC remake. Jesse wanted some fortress bosses ... at first I was against this, but then I remembered the Wily Rescue Force. For those who don't know, the Robot Masters from the Dreamwave comic, led by Cap N's Doc Robot, are a team of villains from the Epilogues. They rescue Wily any time he's in trouble (like when his bases blow up or when he's in prison). So if there's a need for fortress bosses ... why not the Wily Rescue Force? Lavaman was thrown in because there needed to be another boss.

If I had to add one more bot to that I'd pick Toothpasteman in a heartbeat.

PC sprites, Megaman Mysteries

You know those ugly Megaman PC sprites I have? Well, the PC3 sprites have been completely re-ripped. Frenkel, of S&F Productions, has made a sprite viewer in DOS and I used that to create extensive sprite sheets containing .... every single sprite in the game. Including many unused sprites.

Which brings me to Megaman Mysteries. Not only are notes on the PC games expanded, but also some tidbits on debug modes for MM5 and 6. GoldS has found some interesting things about the SNES games, especially X1. MM9 has some things that people already know about. And Star Force has more "lost" BN5 textures. Even MM1 has a new sprite discovered ... an unused door!?

Videos

The Video Section has now been integrated into the Coppermine Gallery. Hooray for workarounds! Videos by Classi and the christmas card by Anime Master are now located in the appropriate section. The War videos are fine the way they are, I think.

New to the section is the Rockman 3 commercial that premiered at Rockman Perfect Memories. I didn't steal it from them, tho. I stole it from Nico Nico Video (aka Japanese You Tube). Even so, out of respect for their getting it first I have waited this long to put it up.

The Classic Megaman Mysteries section has gotten another update. This time, videos donated by Joseph Collins have been added to the Megaman 7 part of the article. They're of him playing through the Sample version of the game.

Updates have slowed somewhat .... mostly due to behind-the-scenes beating around of ideas and such. Rest assured though, we are still going on strong!

The Business of War

This is the big update for the Business of War! Namely that ... it's done. The ending has been posted at last! And, along with it, a whole slew of bonus features.

First off is a long-in-coming spoof ep by Spark Mandrill called The Bitch and the Beast. It's set between stages 5 and 6, so I'm linking to it here.

There's also the Business of War Gallery with art made during or for the event, along with sprites. Included is a picture by Needlegal (colored by me) .... which makes this the very first MM3 project with every single member of the team participating!

I've added Bright Babe's War Sig to the gallery, as well as a Scissor Army sig I commissioned from Gren.

But that's not all! Also updated is the list of Soldier Robots to include most of the robots Wily has used during the event as well as non-Rich Scissor Joes!

A Page Count is now up .... detailing just how long Business of War ended up being. Try not to be intimidated.

And, finally, Creator Commentaries have been posted from most of the participants that made it to the end. I give you all a friendly pat on the back and a firm handshake ... you have made it through! All of you should be proud to be a part of the biggest event in the history of Megaman Teams. Despite every odd, and every obsticle War has reached it's end and you have managed to stay on for the ride.

The Business of War is over.

The Business of War

This is one of the final updates for the Business of War!

The penultimate stage is up! As are the last of the Stage Summaries. Let's all give Raijin some applause. He's worked hard to make all these summaries and I know I would be lost without them.

Also up is a list of Sword Users, also compiled by Raijin. We've just noticed there were quite a few swords being used in the War and we decided to keep track a bit. Beware of spoilers!

Also up is a flash Map of War. This was made by me and Raijin. Raijin was invaluable in making the initial images and actually looking up where everything was. I just made the Flash file.

Also up is the Live Action Buisness of War videos made by Anime Master as well as commentaries!

War's running into the home stretch now ... and the best is yet to come! Stay tuned for the end of the epic that rocked the Team Scene! The end of the Business of War ... it's coming!

But that's not all! A big hand goes out to Joseph "Doc Lithius" Collins who used my Rockman Mega World level select codes to bring us accurate damage data on all bosses from the Rockman Megaworld game. I've compiled that, as well as the codes, and some new observations into a single article that is now online. Now we can see which weapon is, statistically, the best of the best from the first three Megaman games!

Articles, Gauntlet's Guides

I've been doing some thinking and I've decided the image galleries really need accompanying articles to go with them. At least the official images do and most of the sprite galleries. To this end I have created an article on the Megaman PC Games. It details my experience with the PC games as well as some words on the robot masters.

Next up is a ... Gauntlet's Guides article? It's been a while since I did me one of those. This one is on Green Lantern: In Blackest Night. Basically it goes into all the "special" rings and is sort of meant as a look-back that contrasts what's being done today with what's been done in the past.

The PC sprites have been updated. I actually missed a few sprites of Wily. Apparently when you die at WIly himself sprites of him jumping and groveling appear on the computer screen. Since I always cheat at that game I have never seen these sprites until now.

Speaking of sprite galleries, the index page has been merged with the overall Image Gallery using the same hack that I developed for the Specialty Galleries. It's just pointless to leave them so separate. Speaking of which, I've never announced it, but the Megaman Team Christmas Cards are up. They're from a small project made by Snakeman and Spark Chan in December. Be sure to check it all out!

Oh, and the articles on Rockman Strategy and Rockman Gold Empire have received some small updates too. RM Strategy has it's intro video up ... doubtless you've seen it before since Rockman Perfect Memories posted it long before I have. I just felt it was time for me to post it as well. More exciting, however, is that I have posted the game's full script online! Unfortunately ... it's in Traditional Chinese. Yeah. I've also revised a few details in the introduction (the game's not quite so rare anymore) and added in some notes on the ending that I got from reading the script. Rockman Gold Empire's update is a never-before-seen intro video.

Tons of Images

Well, we have a nicely massive image update to follow our last massive image update.

First off, with a thanks to RADIX (for pointing it out to me) and AquaMary (for giving permission), I have an update for the article on Novas Adventuras de Megaman. Namely ... a wealth of images! Some of them must be seen to be believed ... and while looking through them, just remember: this is canon. It's an official Megaman product.

But that's not all! With War coming to a rapid conclusion (believe it or not!) I've taken a look back on Rich's other illustrious works. Not only does his gallery now feature every one of his public drawing for Business of War, bit it now features pictures of his Revenge of the Scissor Army figurines and sketches! In many ways it's a precursor to War, and it's worth a look even if you've never read War because those figures rocked our niche Megaman Community.

That's not all! The girt art section is peppered with new images as well.

Rockman Strategy

A few other people have been posting info on it, so I've decided to update the section a bit. I'll have to edit the article just a tiny bit too.

First of my RMS updates is ... every single image used in the game and complete manual scans.

Truthfully, after compiling all those sprites I got sick of RM Strategy. But I suppose it's long past time in posting what I have on it on the site itself. Happy viewing!

Business of War

The Business of War receives a hefty update this day! Contrary to what many might think, the event is still on. And the fruits of our labor is now presented as it is so far.

The main story has been posted up to Stage 6 (with a new Wily Journal and Cossack Journal in Stage 3). While Raj's Summaries have been continued on to Stage 5.

The War Sigs has been updated with signatures up to the present time.

There's more information on Business of War characters in the allegences section.

There's information on the various foot soldiers now up.

And, finally, Anime Master's many videos have been put up in the video section.

This has been one HELL of an update! And the end is hurtling our way! Stay tuned!

Images GALORE!

It's that time again!

This update sees a MASSIVE update to the image galleries. Just under 1000 images have been added to the MMTV show and Captain N galleries collectively. With the second set of Cap N DVDs finally being released in my region I can FINALLY add screencaps from the MM3 episode - a tale of two dogs - to the set.

But that's not all! I've gone through the Ruby Spears cartoon and have added images to all the categories, especially focusing on the background helper bot characters.

It's a variable bonanza of images nobody's interested in!

Business of War: Scenario generator, Needle's Cosplay

The Business of War now has it's own Scenario Generator that I made in Flash. From now on all scenarios shall be made using that!

Uh .... I wish I had thought of it earlier, but .... whatever! There it is!

Also, my sister's Cosplay Gallery has been updated with even more pictures featuring her latest costumes. And information on the awards she's won has now also been included. Hooray!

Image Gallery, Contacting

The Image Gallery sees a long awaited organization update! See, I wasn't quite sure how to integrate the "odd" galleries like Needlegal's Cosplay or Megaman 9 or My Art Contest or our famous Hentai Gallery into the Coppermine Image Gallery system. These galleries held the entire project up. Well, no longer! Now they can all be found in the main Coppermine Gallery. Which is now just the plain old Image Gallery.

Furthermore, I've uploaded Lennon's Gallery into the system as well as the Box Art Gallery. I've also made the Manual Art Gallery to house all the manual scans I did for the Nintendo Power gallery. THAT was an update long in coming.

And that's not all! The contacting page is now run in Flash. Because I can!

Business of War, Images

The Business of War is in full swing and the section has a large update this week!

The full introduction is now online, including what various other team members wrote for inclusion. Also, a forum trend lately has been to create Business of War signatures and those can now be seen in the main section. Finally, to make everyone's lives easier a list of allegiances has been included in the section.

But that's not all! Even more art from Magnetman and Snakeman has been posted in the image galleries! Thanks to the new system, I don't have to do all that work myself .... YAY!!

Anyways, stay tuned for more MM3 updates!

And now, a special announcement. Anyone whose coming to CNAnime might wanna look out for 6 conspicous people wearing MM3 shirts ..... because they'll be the 'Maniacs in the flesh! That's right, six of the eight members are coming to Toronto to meet up in real life. And you can say hello (you stalker you). This is a first in the team scene so we're all really stoked for it. Captain N galleries Online! Massive Image Gallery Overhaul!

What!? Oh, yes, you read me right .... over 2,000 screen caps from Seasons 1 & 2 of Captain N with a LARGE focus on Megaman are now housed at the Mechanical Maniacs in our very own Captain N Galleries!

Sadly, season 3 is not yet here, but rest assured: when it's finally released for this region there'll be even more screen captures. That's something you can look forward to.

And to go along with this massive update is an equally massive upgrade to our image galleries. We're now operating out of a Coppermine gallery because it's a pain to make a page for over 2,000 images of Captain N. I may as well upgrade the entire system. In the future, the sprite galleries might also be added to this, but not all of the image galleries are found on the Coppermine gallery. Simply put, it isn't the best way to host every image gallery we have, believe it or not. But it is the best way to host MOST of the image galleries we have, hence the change.

And now, if you'll excuse me .... I'm pooped.

There's an update!?

Considering the overall lack of activity, I've decided to push up this week's update by a few days. I've added some small things here and there.

Firstly, the Asian PC games has a could new images to go with it, namely in Rockman 123's entry.

I've added one entry to all of the sections in the .... pirate games article!? Yeah, I never planned on updating that again, but I found some things that just HAD to be added, even if it was just one per section.

The Cell phone games article features the latest games along with one older game I neglected to put on there. As always, a BUNCH of screens have been put on the screens section of that article (separated out due to sheer number of screens).

The miscellaneous sprites section has some guest entries along with a sheet of E-tank sprites that I compiled. Having all of them on one sheet occasionally comes in handy.

Miscellaneous pictures also features some fan art submitted over the last few months. Sorry it took me so long to get these up!

My Gallery features art of the Wily Rescue Force (meaning the Deamwave robot masters and Cap N Doc Wily).

And finally, Raijin's gallery features alot of nice art, including character designs for the 'Maniac's Transmetal 2 armor!

I don't know when new 'Maniacs Moments will be up. Hard's life must be getting in the way of those little comics. So, I've put up an appropriate message.

That's all for now. I gotta say .... it's nice to work on the site again.

Needle's cosplay

Here's something that's taken a while to find time to do....

Needle's cosplay section has been updated to include last year's costumes. Odille (or an anime version of Swan Lake) and Ashura (from RGVeda) are now in her section. I've also included some reference pictures to show what she's looking at when making these costumes.

Lennon Stuff and More

Yes, Lennon, I finally updated your gallery.

Lennon's made a whole bunch of Mechanical Maniacs cards based on the VS System employed by Marvel and DC. If you're a fan of our epilogues these are a must-see as they tie in with many of our past adventures.

I've also merged Lennon's old (and now outdated) calendar into his gallery.

Per her request I've added Quickman's Iceman Tribute picture to the Iceman Tribute page and also the Misc. Image gallery. Take care, Quick!

In other news ... we switched nameservers because of the recent site slowdown and spontaneous shutdowns. Hopefully that'll fix things.

Galleries Galore

Yes, NOT an epilogue update!

This time it's the galleries that get some lovin'. Galleries of all sort. My sprite gallery sees some fan-submitted stuff as well as a variety of customs made by me. My art gallery has also been updated.

Raijin's gallery, Nightmare's gallery, the Nintendo Power Scans, and the Miscellaneous art gallery have all been updated with new art. Gift Sprites have been updated with new submissions. Finally, last but not least, Quickman has donated some Battle and Chase manga scans which are now in the Manga Scans gallery (which, at some point, I may organise better).

Stuff here and there.

I've been REALLY busy with my comic and REALLY got into watching an anime called Bleach. But I still got time to update a bit with some user submission stuff!

Okay, so .... first up: miscellaneous images have been uploaded. Woo hoo. I love getting images so keep sendin' 'em.

Real Life Wilys sees an update. Wow. That's a section I never - EVER expect an update from.

The Pirate Sprite Sheets sees a tiny update. Zan Sidera submitted some sprites of the tree guy and the red hero guy from Rockman DX3, so those sprites have been added in. Originally for Sprites INC too, but I whined about it a whole bunch (it's been a bad year or so) and Ace, being the gentleman that he is, let me have the game for my own coverage (since I have already covered it). So Zan let me put these up as they were originally for S. INC. So, thanks guys.

And this week's winner of the 'Maniacs Moments contest - Kayorei! Take a bow! Remember: Each week there'll be a new winner so keep on submitting! It could be YOU!

New article, Gauntlet Sprites, Wallpapers

Wow, I haven't had an update like this in AGES!

First off the next winner of the 'Maniacs Moments contest is Kaos! Congrats. PR references for teh win.

Next up is an all new article.Rocman X VS Thunder Blast Man. Not only have I compared both games, but I actually *won* Rocman X and have gone into extreme detail on the ending.

The Gauntlet Sprites page has been updated with an all-new sprite picture featuring every single Megaman character (that has an official sprite) to date! It was *very* tough and annoying to make, but now I can update it easily should I choose to do so.

The Wallpapers section also has a big update. That's one section I don't update too often. This time from tiny project I recently finished up.

Small Images

With the Manga profiles section completed there's just several small image updates this round.

The Sprite Gallery sees some Gift Sprites as well as some sprites that used to be in my sprite gallery, but were moved because they belong more in Gift Sprites.

The Gauntlet sprite section has several sprites made by me that were used in the Epilogues. Hey, they gotta be features, right? Also seen is a sprite picture featuring the robots of the zodiac and a sprite of me created by Egoraptor.

And, finally, one new image for the "gift art" part of the "Others Art Gallery" by Quickman featuring yours truly! And she actually got the hair right!

Manga Profiles

Well, that was a fun-filled week of no updating. I got to discover the true meaning of snow cones and Needle won the championship! But never mind our zany real-life adventures. Now it's time for the update.

Manga Profiles has been totally finished. Every single profile from the original Megaman Megamix and Remix books have been scanned for the world to see! Now people can draw any one of Ariga's robot masters with a great degree of accuracy. Except .... not in colour.

Manga Profiles

Time for another Manga Profiles update! I've decided to try to make this as "ultimate" as possible .... you see, ALL the Ariga works I have have these profile pages .... however, some feature characters the other doesn't have. So I'm gonna try to get ALL the characters systematically.

Anyhow, the first half of Megamix 2's profiles have been uploaded. Some are repeats of profiles we already have, but the scans are bigger ... might give some better quality.

Additionally .... I've been looking over the page and it looks quite ... messy. Oh, having all your content sprawled out on the left frame is a great strategy for pages STARTING OUT, but ..... the Mechanical Maniacs has become somewhat of a monster site. In the future I want to have an entirely new layout and organization system and to that end the Nuts and Bolts page has become a site index showcasing both main features alongside the minor ones in neat categories.

Oh, and due to unavoidable hosting issues there might be some downtime in the near future. Be not alarmed.

More MM3 Mysteries, MM manga scans

Alright, a double update feature!

The update to MM3 Mysteries isn't really big. I just merged my ancient article on the Megaman 3 Prototype rom into the section (as I probably should have done in the first place). There's no new information given. Of course if you haven't read the article, then you may find a few things interesting. I also added chapter links to the beginning of the article, it's gotten quite long.

The Megaman manga scans have been updated for the first time in YEARS! They now feature some old scans once seen on Ariga's own site and a sew section - Character Profiles. The bulk of that was on Ariga's site once, but give me a bit of time and I'll scan all the profiles found in the mangas for that section.

Cosplay Section!

Welp, here's a section long in coming. Find out exactly why Needlegal chose her name in her very own cosplay section!

Alright, so not one of those costumes is Megaman. I don't care.

And, Yes .... this means Needle is an even bigger nerd than I. For I would never cosplay at all.

And, for those who care, no this doesn't mean I am less mysterious .... while I can keep silent Needlegal can be as forthcoming as she likes. About her own information anyways. lol. She respects my privacy.

Oh yeah, I also changed the featured links up at top there. Those last ones were up since forever and a day.

Megaman 9

A section long in coming, I bring you: Megaman 9! A project that's taken about a year to finish, so it better be good!

Ever wonder how the classic Megaman series ends? Of course you do. I do too. Everybody does. Well, we gotta face facts: Neither Capcom nor Keiji Inafune will ever give us a clear, satisfying ending to the series. It's just not how they operate and besides, the plot of the X series has moved away from such connections. Not liking this one little bit I set pencil to paper and finger to keyboard and make up my OWN ending. And now I share it with you.

Not only is this a partial story summary, but it's accompanied by lotsa drawings! So it's fun for your eyes too!

DVD Captures!

Rocketing from the doomed Planet Megaman comes my Megaman DVD captures (conveniently merged with the Image Gallery)!

Alright, I'm being rather dramatic. But I really dunno if PMM is ever gonna be back (Lord knows they have backups which they could've used by now). But, even if they are, it'll be without me and my DVD captures. From now on they're featured here - along with all my other crap. Included also are Quickman's additions which were shown briefly before PMM was deleted.

Wow. Late thursday update. Don't expect to see me around too much this weekend guys, I'm indisposed.

Rockman Strategy

Rockman Strategy receives it's last sprite update featuring the second half of the Constellation Droids and the Classic Bad Guys. This will be the last RMS update for a few weeks. I'm sick of giving the one section all the updates.

On a side note - Happy Halloween! The banner at the top will be as festive as it gets.

Rockman Strategy, MM2 Book

Welp, this ends week one of our time at a new domain and a new server. This happens every two or three years. I hope this time to keep the domain if we ever move again. It's pretty inconvenient to lose it every time we move. Still, it's nice to be on our own and all.

Continuing Rockman Strategy coverage this week. The second set of robot masters that make an appearance in the game are now online! And with them this conclusion: Rockman Strategy was sent out unfinished. The robot master sprites and the lack of encryption spell out an unfinished game no matter how you slice it. Nevertheless, it's a point in my favour! I've solved the mystery of why the in-game text is garbles ..... and along with it I have found the entire script for the game! I've sent it to Sparks to translate. It's in you're hands now Spark! Next week I'll start showing the sprites of the Constellation Droids.

The "article" on the Rockman 2 book has been deleted. I've collected all scanned pages into ONE PDF file and it's now available in the downloads section. Maybe sometimes I'll re-read the book and write a REAL article on it.

TheMechanicalManiacs.com!! Moving from PMM! Oh and Rockman Strategy.

Alright. Well, Nyne (of Planet Megaman) has decided to buy his own server (at which PMM will be hosted soon enough) and so I'm jumping the PMM ship and climbing aboard Nyne's Megaman Community project (as is the Sinister Six, by the way). Although we'll be on the same physical server, the site will no longer be under Planet Megaman as a sub-hosted site. Nyne's deal is totally and completely separate from Planet Megaman, although he is a staff member there. Our destiny will be our own!

*huttah!*

To further this end I have done what I should have done a LONG time ago - purchased a .com redirect. You can now, and forever more, reach us at .....

www.TheMechanicalManiacs.com!

Please, update all bookmarks and links.

Right now the .com redirect doesn't function 100% properly (in that it acts like our free .cjb.net redirect, although it does still point to us). This is because we're still just a sub-hosted site. Once we're on our own it'll work great.

In regards to PMM, I have decided to leave as a staff member. I don't want to cause trouble for them or for myself so, to put it simply, it's due to artistic differences and I'll leave it at that. Good luck, Planet Megaman! Fight for everlasting peace!

Oh, and that Rockman Strategy game has more sprites. This time of half the classic robot masters featured in the game (I know some have been waiting for this)! I've also added some new fun facts pertaining to the game as well as large, high quality, scans of the front and back of the box. Also, the "Chinese Games" article is now, more accurately, called the "Asian games" article. The article itself has been reworked slightly, but there's really no new information.

Rockman Strategy!

The milking of one game for all it's worth continues! And by that I mean Rockman Strategy now has sprites for all the minor enemies found in the game!

Yeah, I've been dragging these updates out. I've been busy.

On a side note - PMM blew up again! Whose surprised? Raise your hands? *crickets chirp* That's what I thought. Well, keep looking to the CJB.NET redirect and you'll always find this site.

Images and Sprites

The Gauntlet Sprite Section has been updated. As has the Sprite section itself. Some new stuff and one old thing by me. My Image Gallery has been updated and so has the Misc Image Gallery. Lots to look at!

As for Planet-Megaman ..... Heat's decided to play it safe and wait for the Server Admin to restore PMM. When will that happen? I dunno. Also, we DON'T have total control over the .com account. Lars still owns the domain. Why won't he transfer it over? Again, I dunno.

So, when will PMM return to it's former glory? Who can say ..... In the meantime though, the Mechanical Maniacs shall continue to be your #1 source of will-PMM-come-back news!

Weeeee're BACK!

And none too soon, may I add. Heat wants to wait a bit before bringing the rest of PMM back online, but everyone's coming back, don't worry!

As for this site, I've done a few internal reorganizations, but it should all be functioning as well as before. Except for the Mechanical Maniacs Moments, while are completely messed up, and the quizzes which ought to be hosted on-site anyway.

However, I do have an update! Check out the Nintendo Power Image Gallery for Megaman 2 image madness. There's even some new Megaman, Wily, and enemy images so check out the last few of those to see some new ..... and crappy stuff!

Fan Stuff!

Alright, back again. Yeah, I've been busy, tired, followed by more busy this week. But now I get to put up some really nice things .... FAN STUFF!

The Gauntlet sprites has two sprites at the VERY end submitted by a fan.

The Sprites Section has three new entries.

And, finally, fan art has SEVERAL new entries.

These have been piling up for quite some time so it's good to finally get them up.

Chinese Games. Rockman Strategy

A couple sections get some long-overdue attention. Not because I found something new .... but because I just didn't feel like updating them before!

Rockman Strategy now has the back of the box for those who are curious. Yep, that's all.

The Chinese Games list is now more organized with a few bigger images as well as some information on Rockman IQ Challenge straight from my buddy Auto!

Lotsa Images

There's lotsa images in this update.

My Sprite gallery has been updated with one new edit done by me and a couple gift sprites done by others. Thanks, guys.

The Sprite Gallery contains new gift sprites.

My image gallery contains a few new pictures done by (of course) myself. Well ....... the word "new" is relative here as some are relatively old ...... but most of you never saw 'em!

Finally, the Other image gallery contains more images ..... including images by Spark Chan and a gift from Quickman! Also some scans centred around MM3. Thanks to everyone who gave images.

Oh, and don't bother telling me the link to the Secret Page is down ..... I'm actually in the process of remodeling it ;)

Unnamed, Image Gallery

The Unnamed has been updated with chapter 11!

You may have noticed Planet Megaman was hacked. Well .... it seems allot of sites have been hacked, all of them relating to video gaming in some way. Of all of these, I was the first guy back. But let's send some support to PMM and it's sub sites, the Sinister Six, Sprites INC, MM AU, and Plug-In!

Also got some nice bits of gift art from Quickman .... including a truly frightening Cap N Shadowman sketch! Gives me goosebumps......

Gauntlet's Art Contest - OVER!

My Art Contest has finally ended! There were laughs, there were tears, but my contest has come to a close. With no less (and no more) than ten entries it's far surpassed my execration of four! And, amazingly, has spawned some actual GOOD art! Go to the contest page to see all the entries and the fabulous prizes they received!

Will there ever be another contest? I guess that depends if contests ever become in fashion again. But if there is something to make fun of or take advantage of you can bet ...... I will be there!

MM3 Mysteries (again), fan sprites, fan art, Gauntlet fan sprites, The Unnamed

Megaman 3 Mysteries has had YET ANOTHER update. This one is yet another thing I sadly missed. More unused Protoman sprites uncover the answers to a deeper mystery that was bugging me for quite some time. Check it out.

The Sprites Section and "Other Art" Gallery has been updated again with more fan art and fan sprite comics. My sprite gallery is also updated with more fan submission that I ..... forgot to post for a while now. Sorry.

Also, The Unnamed has been updated with Chapter 8, thusly evening out the numbers.

Now, you might have noticed a bunch of flags replacing the broken link to "Best viewed with Emerald Eye". Yes, not people can use the power of Bablefish to view this page in any language they want! Did I do this so foreign visitors might enjoy the page? Nah (since when can Bablefish translate a page?), I did it for the sheer novelty of having such a feature. And if you have to ask why I have an english-to-english translation of the page ...... you simply haven't visited enough of the page yet.

MM3 Mysteries , fan sprites, fan art, Gauntlet art, The Unnamed!

Wow, a monster update this week!

Megaman 3 Mysteries has been a big success! So big in fact, that I might very well expand that sort of coverage to all the games. Featuring some info that you know .... and some you might not. But, thanks to Heat of Sprites INC I have found something I had previously overlooked! What appears to be an entire cityscape ... possible for an alternate ending! He's also identifies Unknown sound effect 3 as the sound when the nut and bolts come together (as seen in Top's level). Thanks, Heat!

The Sprites Section and "Other Art" Gallery has been updated with more fan-submitted sprites and pictures!

The bios also have new pictures drawn by yours truly depicting the current version of the Megaman 3 Team (including Needlegal and Spark Chan)! The full pictures can be seen in my art gallery.

And, finally, The Unnamed has been updated once more with two more chapters. I've been neglecting this project much too long and I want to get it out of the way! So, hopefully .... I can do that.

And that's the update for today, folks. Be sure to vote for me in the next Megaman Page Idol!

Image Galleries

Mostly, I reorganized sprites behind-the-scenes. Shouldn't notice too big a difference. Although, many sprites in the sprite gallery that I made are now found in the Gauntlet Sprite Gallery. Also, a few gift sprites are now up in the Sprite Gallery. Most are single sprites, but that's ok by me. I like gift art, after all. Also, the animations section has a couple "new" animations made by me. New in that I haven't posted them until today.

Hardian's gallery has more pictures. Forum frequenters should recognize them pretty easily. They's pretty spiffy. My gallery also has one new image. Gift art for B. Hornet of the Megaman Community forums.

Hey, don't forget to send art for the Gauntlet's Art Contest. We need submissions from *points* YOU!

And to all the Canadian MM fans - Happy Thanksgiving!

Real Life Wilys, New Image Gallery

Despite a slight misunderstanding on PMM the Gauntlet's Art Contest is proceeding pretty much as I expected. I have more than three submissions for a contest I held on a whim, and I count that as a win. You don't want to be the only kid on the block who didn't enter do you? Draw up something TODAY!

Now, then, time for an update!

For the first time since I opened the section up, the Real Life Wilys section has an update! Ye, GODS it's about friggin' time! This time with an ..... "Albert Wiley"! The exact same name as our favourite mad scientist!

The second update "du jour" is a new section in the Image Gallery - Hadrian (Hardman)'s gallery! In it is all the pieces of art he did for his other page. It's pretty snazzy and pretty large. So check it out!

And, finally, the "since 2000" image has been changed! I've never been really great with it, but I couldn't think of anything else. So, I asked the people in the forum for help. And the winner of the "since 2000" contest is .... That 'Guy'! Congratulations! Now give yourself a nice, firm, pat on the back!

The Unnamed, Chinese Games, Cell Phone Games, Sprites, Images, MM3 Tiger

"Same Shadow Time" ...... yeah, well it didn't turn out that way. Oh, well. I make up for it in UPDATES. And what big updates we have today.

First off, yet another (short) chapter of The Unnamed is up for reading.

Next, the Chinese Games article in the misc. section has screen shots for Rockman Gold Empire. It's one of the games Capcom licensed (not a pirate) .... doesn't make it good.

The Cell phone games have also been updated. I think I might actually have found one for you guys to download and play! Of course the page was in Japanese, so I dunno. Someone wanna try it out and let me know?

There's some new art in the misc. Image gallery by Kindlewoman and an official picture of Pinbot that I forgot to put up earlier.

Annnnnd there's been an update in the sprites section! We have some custom sprites of Hardman.EXE by our very own Hardman as well as sprites Auto ripped from one of the Chinese games! Rockman is super deformed and they actuallylook quite nice, so it's worth the two seconds it takes to look at them. Both have handy new tanks next to them for easy finding.

Finally, I've put up a new and, I'm sure, long awaited article: an article on Megaman 3 for Tiger Handheld Electronics! It was only a matter of time before the Megaman 3 team covered this aspect of Megaman 3 as well. And if you think it's a straight copy of Joey's article, you're mistaken. I now HAVE this game in my possession! Meaning I can write up something original!

Image Gallery, Unnamed, 'Maniacs Moments

As you can see the Mechanical Maniacs Moments are back! We got a healthy supply in reserve now so there's little fear of them dying on us again. Thanks, Hard.

The Image Gallery is once more seeing new updates. This time in the "other" image gallery section. We have a few pieces of new gif art as well as quite a few official images .... including one for GAMMA! That's right the peace keeping robot himself premiers right here!

Lastly, but now least, are two more chapters of the Unnamed! They're short, but sweet. Well, at least IMO.

Well, that's all for today. Tune in next week! Same ..... Shadow time! Same ..... Shadow channel!

Epilogues, one new animation.

Yeah, I almost didn't update this week. But I figured ...... "hell, why not? I may as well post one of those epilogues that's been done for a few months".

And that's exactly what I did. Issue #9 - Snakeman is Framed! done by our very own Snakeman!

Also, Lennon made a pretty neat animation that's now in the Animation section. You know, if you like animated gifs.

Anyways, keep yer eyes peeled for even more updating goodness! Apparently people like those epilogues. I was actually beginning to wonder.

Sprites, Pirate Games

Well, well, well, a GOOD update this week. Who knew?

Well, I've finally updated that pirate section with a pretty substantial update. Not only are there new pirate games up, but I also reorganized it a bit. Not GB multicarts are in the GB section. I never figured there'd be so many ....... but what do I know? I ALSO made neat thumbnails, so now the page will not take forever to load. I've been meaning to do that for a long while now, but only now have I gotten around to it.

And now: sprites update! I added neat MM3 costumed sprites and those are in the Sprite Gallery under: customs. They have a "new tank" nest to them. I also added old sprite sheets Pixelboy ripped for MM4 GB. Pixelboy has been gone since 1998 and I figure, since I can't contact him or nuthin', that he'd be glad his work's used. So, what are MM4 sprites doing on the MM3 team? Who knows!

As weeks go this one hasn't been so bad. I saw Lord of the Rings, which was spectacular. All in all pretty nice. Oh, yeah, I had a pretty good debate in the Dreamwave forums about the 'ol "MM is X" issue. Alot of good points were brought up, but I think the only ones I haven't heard before was: A) Dr. Light would actually NOT want MM to trade his memories for sentience and B) Wily would create the Zero Virus, aid Sigma, and crash a colony into the planet thereby ruining it to SPITE his rival Doctor Light who (as far as he knows) died 100 years ago. Haven't heard anyone HONESTLY defend these points, so I guess I'm a little surprised people can believe that over the answer being "MM actually IS X". Well, I can't say I won the debate, but I don't think I lost either. With the complete lack of proof either way, people tend to stick to what their first impression than be persuaded otherwise. But you can read it all here. It was all pretty interesting and I think I'm done arguing over it for another 6 months or so.

Big Image Gallery Update

This is a monster sized update, folks! A HUGE (I say HUGE) update to almost all the image galleries has occurred! Firstly, I have added a set of images to my own image gallery. Redesigns of the MM3 guys. Not Ariga, not Nintendo Power, my OWN designs this time. I am very pleased with the results. Also added a couple other images there too. I added a couple pictures to Raijin's gallery. Always nice. The "others" gallery had been updated with images of the MM3 people done in the Hero Machine style. Interesting and now viewable. Finally, Nightmare has posted a SLEW of art he's done which was previously unposted. He now has his own gallery. All this and more can be seen by going through the image gallery!

Epilogues, Sprites

Series 5 chugs along with another new epilogue! This one actually taking place IN Series 5! No flashbacks or anything. Behold as the 'Maniacs move into their new base in the newest ep made by yours truly.

The sprites gallery is also seeing an update. I've updated the "Gauntlet sprites" gallery with a new recolor of my Doc Robot sprite (in official colors now) and a new custom - Needleman EXE! It's my first EXE style sprite so I think I did a good job of it. But, the main sprite gallery is also updated. Under "Custom Sprite Creations" I've put my second Captain N Sprite Sheet! The first one was surprisingly successful (and got me connected to CaptainN.net to boot) so I've made a second. This one features MUCH better sprites than the first with customs and scratch sprites. It has a nice "New tank" right next to it, so it's impossible to miss.

So, how about that Halloween banner? Pretty freaky, eh? I bet it gave some of you guys chills. Since it was up for only a week, I'll leave it up for another week.

Also, I noticed the quizzes were somewhat ...... totally screwed up. Yeah. Well, those have been fixed too.

For this last segment, I'd like to showcase other "Mechanical Maniacs" across the web. See, even though we have the very unlikely team name of "Mechanical Maniacs", there are two other pages on the net featuring the SAME name! Mechanical Maniacs - A Japanese (maybe) site featuring mecha! Mechanical Maniacs - A team of mechanics making ..... stuff! Other Mechanical Maniacs ..... unless you become Megaman Teams ..... we salute you!

Sprites, Reorganization

I wasn't in the mood for so much this week. Hence the late update. But what the Hell? Most noteworthy thing is that several custom sprites have been added to the "Gauntlet's sprites" section in the Sprite Gallery. They turned out alright. Next, there's been a bit of organization. Allot of the articles once found in the left frame have been sent to the Mice. Section under a new heading: "Articles"! The Guides section has also been organized so it isn't a complete mess anymore. Lastly the poll is over. Throughout the whole thing the two sides were split dead even. And, while it looks like most of the time the size works just fine for most people, almost the same number would appreciate more options. So, I guess I'll add one more size to the Wallpapers for a grand total of TWO choices in size. I don't think the four usual choices are really necessary. "Small" and "Medium" will do. Those of you with "monster-sized" monitors will just have to make do. But that'll be for next update. Or something. Not in a mood to make better resolutions of the current "good" wallpapers right now

Sprite Gallery, Secret Page

Well, the sprite gallery has been updates with Rockman Zero 2 sprites! Specifically the new techniques. Thanks goes to Blackheart for donating these sprites to me. They can be located in the sprite gallery. The Secret Page has been updated. I've added a FAQ to the section with such popular questions as, "Can you tell me where the secret page is?" and "Does the secret page even exist?" Also, due to popular demand, I have added a TIP to FINDING the secret page! However, since I can't make things THAT easy for you, I have hidden the tip somewhere on the site. I've given the secret page itself a nice overhaul so finding it has extra incentive! Uh, also ..... don't bother asking Beverly where the secret page is. I've changed the link since then. Well, all this secret page stuff pretty much took the entire week, really. Uh ...... but, hey why not check out Planet Megaman? Or go outside or something? Or, hey, go see League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Sure, it's not quite the comic, but I liked it. Worth my $8!

Yeah..... AGAIN! Thought Series 4 was over, eh? Well it ISN'T! Betcha didn't see THAT one coming, eh? Series 4 concludes with a new epilogue by Topman: "Aftermath"! New images up in ye olde gallery. Fan art from Fandango to start things off with. Next I've updated my own gallery ....... again. With more art of Bizarro in his newest design. The sprite was based of this, by the way. Also included is the last of the Captain N robot masters! Yeah, I know a few people who've been waiting for these. Finally got to see the episode and now the sketches are released for ALL to see! And that's it. So ........ yeah, that's it. Go look then.

Well, both Canada day and America's Flag day has passed. So, I hope you all liked the fireworks. Funny how both country's days are in July. Welp, the three part possession storyline of Series 4 has reached it's end! How will the 'Maniacs triumph over such overwhelming odds? Hey, overwhelming odds are our specialty! Read the adventure in the epilogues section! I've also added a new image gallery to the mix - Raijin's! AKA Snakeman! For those who frequent our forum, these images shouldn't be new .... but to those many, many people who do not go to the Image Gallery and check it out!

Epilogue, Image Gallery, Megaman Brazil

Series 4 continues with Possession part 2. I'm gonna skimp on the details, but it's up for you to read. Unfortunately Needle's been really busy lately and was unable to edit any of these last few epilogues so you'll have to deal with spelling errors and maybe even grammatical ones too. Oh, well.

The image gallery has seen another update. The old Fireman EXE Sayan Xtreme sent me a great Shadowman picture for you guys to check out. It's in the "Others" image gallery. My own gallery has seen an update with a new Bizarro Shadowman sketch. It's unnecessarily complicated so check it out.

Lately, you may notice a new section on the right frame. "Megaman Brazil" which covers everything I know about the comic run of Megaman in Brazil! Which isn't to say that I know allot. But there's some little-known factoids there so it's worth a peek. If anyone has anything to add feel free to contact me.

And that's all for today, folks. But tune in next time, same bat-time, same bat-channel.

:::Update 3 mintures later::::

Check this out. So, someone wants to use my crappy old wallpapers (as seen in the Downloads section) as a T-shirt!? Why?? All it'll be is a big square. But, hey - use it if you want! Be my guest. Although a smart consumer would go to the downloads section, download the wallpaper themselves and create their OWN shirt for less.

Well, well, well, another new epilogue! This one starts off the Series finale for Series 4! No more clowning around it's time to take the Decepticons down! I've added more sprites tot he Gauntlet sprite gallery. One of Roll and a few of Gauntlet in MM7 style (mainly because I didn't like my last MM7 style Gauntlet). Hey, it's me again. Which you've probably guessed since I'm the only one that ever talks on the main page. So, first off, I have a new image in the Gauntlet image gallery of the evil Megaman 3 team from the first half of Series 4. Also, the epilogues have been updated with another of Topman's - Clue-dunit! A funny shorter epilogue and worth a look. And that's it. Not one of the monster updates I usually do, but ...... well, that's all you get this week.

Epilogues, Image Gallery, bios, sprites

Sorry for the lack of updates last week, but considering I'm doing this for free I don't think I need to apologize. So, I take back my sorry!

First off the Epilogues have once again been updated! A story by me entitled "You are the Admiral Now!" I am feeling particularly good about this once so I feel the need to pat myself on the back.

Next up is more images in the gallery. Images of Topman and Gemini Red by Nightmare! Go see!

The BIOS now have images of the MM3 TV show guys! Ripped straight from the DVD! That's right folks, Gauntlet has actual DVD rips of the rare MM3 robot masters and that's absolutely NOTHING compared to the update I have planned for Planet Megaman.

The Spriting Page has been updated in the custom sprite creations. Auto gave me Rockman 3 styled Neo Geo Pocket sprites to celebrate my third year annaversary! They're really neat and worth a look-see.

I attended Anime North once more this year, and I must say it was a successful trip. Not only did I get the aforementioned Megaman DVDs, but I also got once signed by Scott Mc Neal voice of Protoman (and Wily)! Perhaps one day I shall get the first DVD set signed by Ian Corlett voice of Megaman. On a side note, I discovered that there's a bit of a voice acting train here. Ian Corlett voiced Wily on Captain N and then went onto do Megaman on the TV show. Scott Mc Neal did Wily there and is now doing Guts on the EXE anime. Kinda funny in a way. Scott McNeal seemed like a nice guy and a good sport with all the fan-attention, however he did seem a little tired (it WAS 11 PM when he made his arrival). Anyway, fun was had by all.

Also, not only did we top 90, 000 hits, but we had an all time high of 900 hits in one day while I was at the con! I'm not sure why traffic jumped like that, but keep it up!

Epilogues, Image Gallery, Sprite Gallery, Guide, Downloads

Another week, another update.

Well I am pleased to announce our counter has reached 100,000 hits today! Breaking 6 digits feels really good to me and I thank all my loyal viewers for support.

Series 4 of the epilogues continues with War Between Wilys. The Mechanical Maniacs finally face off with the powerful True Chimeraman!

The Image Gallery receives an update in the "Others" section. A picture of Megaman cosplay I took when I was at Anime North a few weeks ago. A kid dressed as the original Megaman. While the helmet isn't quite right, it's still .... adorable really.

The Sprite Gallery has seen another update. Specifically the sprite group shot. It now goes up to Megaman Zero 2 including even those stupid resistance guys.

A new Gauntlet's Guide has been posted. My guide to why I consider games like Megaman PC in continuity. See, the vast majority of people I talked to seem to regard those types of games with disdain and not even Capcom products, really ...... so I decided to write my opinion. Kind of the minority report of the MMC.

Finally, I have added a new section in the rightframe. The Downloads section. It WAS in the miscellaneous section once, but no one really figured to look there.

Finally, I would like to announce a victory in the team-scene. I have managed to un-hack Ice's Eye-Lephant account. So Ice now has access to it and the last of the whole "hacking" thing has been wiped clean. Huzzah!

3rd Year Anniversary!

It's been three entire years of mechanical mayhem! Hard to believe ain't it? Seems like only yesterday that I joined this place with our old Senac forum and trying to be as good as the S6 (which was a seemingly impossible task since, initially, our team had a long bout of laziness!). But here we are with content to spare!

To be honest I jumped the gun on some of the anniversary content. Stuff like the layout change and the 404 page SHOULD have been anniversary stuff, but whatcha gonna do?

First up is an all-new epilogue by Topman! Tops hasn't written much this series, but this one is worth the wait so go on and read it!

The Spriting section has alot of updates. Not only did I update the various mugshot sheets in game rips but I added Megaman fonts to the bit containing many useful fonts. Also spriting-related is more sprites in the Gauntlet sprite section! The rest of the custom MM3 soccer sprites have been added along with an animated Gauntlet Dixie.

The Image Gallery has been trimmed a bit. I took down images now featured at Auto's page and put up a Shadowman mug by Quickman in the "Others" image gallery.

Sadly, I have to take down some affiliates. Jetsu and Megaman Universe seem to be down and have been for a while now. Pharaoh Man's Temple has also been taken down due to lack of activity.

The Guestbook has gotten a final face-lift. It now matches the page even more! Gauntlet's Guides has been a long-ignored section. Not that I haven't written anything, I just didn't think it was good enough to post. But - NO LONGER! Seven new guides have been posted in that section. Will there be more to come? Unlikely. But anything is possible!

The Secret Page's link has also been moved to a place that is easier to find. Good luck to you all.

Lastly, and most importantly, is the opening of the Mechanical Maniacs' Store! There I am selling t-shirts, mugs, and more shirts at Cafe Press. The link SHOULD be easy to spot. I am very excited about this and hope everyone will open their hearts - and their wallets - to my humble store. Images and merchandise will change occasionally, so check back and see if something catches your eye.

This has been quite a year. Breaking 80,000 hits makes me feel good and I am sure that the next year will be even more prosperous than the current one.

Epilogue, Gauntlet sprites, 404 error page

The epilogue madness continues in an ep written by Lennon! This one wraps up the loose ends left by the Robotic Raiders eps (which were also written at least in part by Lennon). MY sprites page has also received another update. Not only did I fix up the older sprites a bit (saw they had bad outlines and shading problems thanks to the new, brighter, monitor setting), but also a couple brand new sprites! A Gauntlet Dixie has been made and a Gauntlet in MM7 style. Also, Ice's MM Soccer section (which is coming soon to the S6, I am sure) inspired me to make a Shadowman Soccer sprite. Ice's is great, but it didn't use the Capcom-official Shadowman Soccer head that was peeking out of the car in the background. I think I had marginal success with it, but Capcom's official head isn't easy to work with. Lastly, the page has been given a custom 404 error page! With it comes a layer of class that only a custom 404 error page can bring! Yes, folks, the dream has come true. Go ahead - give it a whirl! Type in a broken link, you know you want to!

Epilogue, Odds and Ends

The epilogues have once more been updated with another one by me! "Team Badass."

On another note, I've been doing various cleanups. I discovered the other day that, for the past few months, my monitor was on the darkest view setting it could manage. So, upon brightening it, I discover that the mugshots I was using for the past few years are horribly colored! Although they looked fine on my crappy old monitor and a darker setting of my current monitor, viewed normally they didn't look good. So I recolored them.

I ALSO discovered that the huge black background in the image galleries is MUCH more noticeable than I originally thought on my crappy old monitor. So I finally took it off.

AND, if all THAT wasn't enough I decided that I am getting a little sick of the layout on my current bright color setting. So I may go in and darken everything so it looked like it did when my screen was much darker.

All that got me in a cleaning sort of mood, so I did what I've been meaning to do for the last little while: clean up the cluttered images in the bios. Now they all have spiffy thumbnails. I also went over some things in the Mice. section and reorganized one part a little. So all that amounts to no real content.

Although I updated the image gallery and the Gauntlet sprite gallery with images you've seen if you frequent my forum. I've also decided that the sprite gallery featuring sprites from epilogues is a waste of space and I deleted it.

That's about it for this week.

Epilogues, Image Gallery

Another installment in the epilogues series! This one's by Geminiman. The Mechanical Maniacs' powers have been switched, what shall they do!?

Also updated is the image gallery, specifically the "other images" section. Magnetman has done some excellent Mechanical Maniacs Magic cards for you all to check out. I've also been rummaging through some old images and have posted links to the old Gemini Red images that were once used in Nightmare's bio (he was once Gemini Red, for those of you who didn't read Series 2 of the Epilogues).

When reading through the EXE Walkthough (and I just KNOW you've all read though it) you may have noticed a lack of banner ads. Uh, small oversight on my part. So I've put them on. Hey, it's REQUIRED for us to stay online y'know.

Image Gallery, epilogues, Manga scans, Pirate games

Another monster update this week. The Image Gallery has been updated with the EXE cards created by members of Viral Infection. View that in the sprite section of the individual galleries right at the top of the page. Side note: I MUST reorganize that dang image gallery!

More Viral Infection content has been salvaged this week. The rest of the manga scans have been uploaded into the manga gallery, including ones I PLANNED to post at VI, but never had a chance to.

The epilogues section has been updated this week (of course). This time with one done by me ... again!

The pirates page has also been updated with a couple new carts. A new Thunder Blast Man and Rockman 1 find. Worth a look.

Some news for you Sinister Six fans out there: It's not dead. Ice and I have just about finished all the IMPORTANT files and it's all set once Zero X Phoenix is ready to give Ice his hosting (and if there was any doubt of that happening before, with the closing of Megaman Masters and Zero Forever, that doubt has surely been erased.) So, stay tuned.

**Update a few hours later**

Took a few hours and really went through the galleries. Now their MUCH more organized!

Image Gallery, epilogues, Wallpapers

The image gallery sees a new image by Sparkman of Copy Rockman! He's a pretty good artist, so be sure to check it out. Has the new sign there, so it's easy to pick out.

Also in the gallery is an updated MM group shot! This time I've added the rest of the RMZ resistance fighters and the EXE 3 guys (including the final boss). Substantial changes in composition have also been made. The wallpapers section (which features a wallpaper made from this image) has been updated as well.

Finally, new epilogues have also been released. The fifth issue of Series 4 features a dramatic change in the storyline, but I don't want to give anything away. Also updated is my contribution to the SNL epilogue project - celebrity jeopardy! It's fun, it's exciting - so go read!

Image Gallery, epilogues

Right, then. Few new updates. Image Gallery has some major new images in both the custom sprite creations and the images category including images drawn by Forte-Chan, Lennon and Needlegal. The epilogue is seeing a major update today! Along with the next issue of Series 4, there's new side stories. Saturday Night Live parts one and two have been posted. It's actually a rather old project, only it's recently been finished. Sparkman has made us a holiday banner, as you can see, so I've put it up. Happy Holidays, everybody.

Good news, mangas

Y'know, this hacker thing reminds me of an old Chinese story. "A man once found a wild horse. He thinks this is good, but the old man says 'wait and see'. The man tries to tame the animal, but breaks his arm. He says this is bad fortune, but the old man says, 'wait and see'. Soon a war starts and, because of his broken arm, the man doesn't have to fight."

Similarly, Ice's account was hacked. Pretty bad. But then, he finds he has all the backups. Plus he gets offered hosting on a GOOD server. And he gets help from his friends getting his site more organized than ever before. Which is good. Moral is? The Xtreme Team's so incompetent that even when they try to hurt someone, they end up helping them.

The Sinister Six is alive on one of Ice's OTHER accounts so, hooray for him. The Xtreme Team wasn't too thorough in their little job. Not only did they miss this account, but they also missed ANOTHER of his accounts. Needless to say, we've changed the information needed to log into them. Relatively soon, Ice will be out and about.

People have been asking for the proof we have that those Xtreme people are behind this. Well, logically, there's only one group that hates both me AND Ice and that's the Xtreme Team. Next, they wrote something not only on the mainpage, but also in the guestbook, claiming responsibility and threatening to "hack" me (har har). Add tot he fact that I've constantly been getting spammed by them (although I rarely complain), YES it is those losers.

In content news (that actually relates to THIS site) I've uploaded some old Viral Infection content in way of manga images. The 80 (or so) images of minor enemies and robot masters. Very nifty. Manga images can be found in the image gallery.

Epilogue, Music, tidying up

A new epilogue has been posted. "Mystery of the Cossack bots" by Geminiman.

I've added one new file to the music section, but it's a doozy! The Megaman 3 NSF file. You'll need Winamp and a plugin to play it. It has the complete Megaman 3 soundtrack including sound effects.

Speaking of the Music section, it has been moved tot he Misc. section under downloads. Game Graphics and Mangas have been moved to the image gallery. And the Gallery itself has been organized further, separating ripped sprites from custom works.

The affiliates have been moved tothe right frame using some fancy HTML script. So now they appear on just about every single part of this site.

*Update a few hours later* Was board and decided to take out background MIDIs in the bios (finally) and replaced them with Play/Stop MIDI controls. Killed a few minutes....

Walkthrough, Animations, Epilogues

The Walkthrough has been updated. I was never happy with how the last few "hints" turned out, so I've made them better. Changed are the hints for Needleman, The Doc Robot stages, and the Wily stages. Geminiman has given me more of his sprite animation for people to view. You can find them in the Image Gallery. And the epilogues have finally resumed. Series 4 has begun with a brand new epilogue by myself. Affiliation has been going well. There's one spot left now.

Image Gallery, Pirate Sprites, New Quiz, forums

Yet another update. This one has a nice bit o content.

First up is new unused sprites. From Megaman 4. Ever wonder why they never made more sprites for the Wily talking bit? Wonder no more.

Also, there is more added to the Rocman X sheet in the pirate sprites section (in the image gallery). Remember how, in the pirate games section, I said it was based off a gameboy game called "ThunderClashman"? Well, I ripped those sprites too. And they're even more like Rockman than in the "Rocman X" game! Go look.

New Quiz made by me. "Which Megaman are you??" Are you Megaman X, Megaman EXE, or possibly ..... the MM1 box art Megaman!? You know the drill, go to the quiz and fill it out!

Also, I'd like to announce that the forums are NOT DEAD! Sigmah moved them to the bluebomber server to avoid the glitches that were plaguing his server. The move is "temporary". In fact it moved a month ago, but people for some reason didn't bother checking the announcement that the forum moved. Must be blind. At any rate, there's no need to re-regester, all your accounts and posts have been preserved. The link to the forums on this page is correct.

A-H section returns, Chinese Game mystery solved, Pirate game page split up! Oh, and more images have been added to the bios..

Back in the day, this page achieved high recognition because I relied to the many flames that were thrown at us in a section called the "Ass holes speak". When I moved to the new server, Classic Gaming had a bit of a problem with profanity used there and also the flames had cooled allot, so I ditched the section. Well, lost content always bothered me, so I waited until a time when I could return the section. Now, armed with a powerful disclaimer placed prominately on the page, the section returns! And I've added a new entry to it as well (which will mark the final update for that section). View the old section in the miscellaneous page.

A few days ago I was contacted by a dude who actually own one of the pirate games listed on my page - Rockman the Power Battle PC! Go to the Chinese games page to see startling discoveries and information that will intrigue you for an entire minute! Also, I added more to the "Rockboard" game.

Finally, I split up the pirate games page. There's just too many images! Y'know, I once told Auto that Rock wasn't too popular among pirates, and he told me I was dead wrong ....... and it looks like I was.

Oh, yeah, almost forgot. TV images of Needle and Hard have been added to the bios. Courtesy of Wolf Eclispe.

Image Gallery, New Petition, Links

This update's actually pretty big. I've added images of the Megaman 3 team in their Transmetal Armor drawn by Geminiman. All in the Image Gallery (what'd you expect?). Now lately I have noticed a new trend in the MM community. Online Petitions. And, far be it for me to ignore a new trend. So, I have created my OWN petition! The Megaman is God petition! That's right, you no longer have to just play Megaman, you can worship him as your god! Sign today! It is easily located in the left frame. Oh, yeah. I also added a new link to the links section.

Image Gallery

Images by myself, Snakeman, and Sparkman today. One is an especially weird one. You'll have to go there to see.

Also added to the gallery is a sprite animations page. Like all sprite animation sections, it's a bit of organized chaos. Still, it has sprites by Sparkman, Topman, and myself to see.

Chinese games, pirate games, guides, NP images

Both those sections have now been updated with a few new games. The pirate games page has gotten so huge, I may just have to split it up. Also updated is the guides section. I've added a short essay on Megaman pages. My thoughts on what makes a good webpage and what makes a bad webpage. Writing began at 3:00 AM, so that guide is a tad more surly than others I've wrote. In the profiles are better scans of the Nintendo Power MM3 guys. Although I left the small size restrictions, they really are bigger than the originals. Considering how big the galleries are for the characters, I may just have make the section have more of a gallery-style feel to it. In related news I've linked to Wolf Eclipse. He's letting me use some MM TV show images featured on his site. After editing, they'll appear in the profiles page. Also, remember to check out the Ultimate Megaman Forums (which, for all intents and purposes is MMU). Most of the main MM teams convene there, so it's an ideal place to see what's happening in the team-scene.

epilogues, Image Gallery, guides, pirate games

A brand new epilogue has been posted. "Revenge through Proxy"! Just WHO is getting revenge? Well, go and find out. Old content from my days at Lysekoid's has been added to the image gallery. Mostly old images of the PC characters and the old staff. Hey, wanna see how much I used to suck at drawing? Check it out! That about finishes up my moving of content from Lysekoid's to this place. Ho-raay! Also I've remolded another character shrine into a guide. The one dedicated to Phoenix. 100% better than the original with plenty of images for those who have short attention spans. Also jammed packed with mini profiles of all who possessed the Phoenix force drawn from the obsessive-conpulsive researching mind of myself! So that's 4 down, one to go! After that, the existing guides get a nice image-induced makeover. The pirate games section has new content as well. PLENTY of new cartridges for everyone to look at and say "God damn, but those pirates are stupid!" Next week, maybe I'll upload more content for your favorite section and mine - the manga scans! But maybe I won't. Heh. Tune in to find out.

epilogues, Image Gallery

The image gallery is the big star this week. With a new CG by me, and two drawings by Lennon. It also has several works once seen on Mega Land. Also new is that the Gauntlet sprite sheet is retired for the Gauntlet sprite gallery. Why? Because Akoi once made me animations to showcase! They're all there including some really old sprites I did. The epilogues have been updated. The final chapter of Lennon's quest has been posted for all to see! Will he regain his memory? And what will it reveal? Find out! A team mystery has been solved. You see, in the Tech Tyrant's guestbook, a mysterious RF team was said to have existed. The "6 Horsemen". Well - lo and behold - a guy a knew from the 8-bit Club was it's leader all this time! See, this is why communication is needed. Anyway, he shut his RF team down quietly making the Tech. Tyrants the one and only RF team on the net. Wish I got to see that old RF team, but oh well.

epilogues, Guides, Image Gallery

This week has a decent sized update. My little project of transferring the Character Shrines to the guides section continues with the shrine to Green Ranger. I didn't actually change much on Green Ranger's guide. His was probably the best of the bunch. Also, lotsa stuff added to the Image Gallery. First a picture of the evil mutant turtle from dimension X - Slash. Drawn by me. Next are a TON of Megaman cards done in Final Fantasy 8 style. A BIG effort on Geminiman's part. Highly recommended, so go there. Next up is another new epilogue. Number 18 in Series 3! An impressive number, no? This one is part of The 'ol Switcheroo "crossover" event you may have heard of. It was when Ben, Ice and I all switched epilogue stories and wrote each other's teams! Don't blame Ben for this epilogue's horribly late entry, it was written while this team was well into Series 3, so I had to hold it back. Otherwise - plot spoiled! And we can't have that. In other news tomorrow I'll be at the anime convention in Toronto called Anime North. So, if any of my Toronto-based fans are there, we'll actually be in the same vicinity! Of course no one on the net actually knows what I look like, so it really doesn't matter does it?

Second Year Anniversary! Grand reopening!

We're back ladies and gentlemen! On a bad-ass server with more room, more bandwidth and more technical support! This move couldn't have happened at a better time either for it is (as I have mentioned before) our second year anniversary. Outlasting the vast, vast majority of Megaman Teams, the Mechanical Maniacs have survived and prospered.

The first update you should notice is that I added new custom mugshots to replace the old mugs from multiple games. This is to reflect the image I want to maintain for the team. Another cosmetic update is that I have removed the comet cursor from the page. Apparently many people didn't like it, but were "too nice to tell me"!!! OY! Perhaps next time I ask for feedback, more people will say something.

I have removed the A-holes speak section. Classic Gaming prohibits the massive swearing and racially offensive remarks usually thrown at us by people in the section. I was given the option of merely censoring it, however, it serves little purpose anymore so I removed it. I don't update the section anymore anyway so I was toying with the idea of removing it before the big move. However, the "Book of Larceny" can still be accessed in the miscellaneous section for it's the very best out of that entire section. Also added to the miscellaneous section is the polls once found in the left frame.

Another new epilogue has been posted continuing the adventures of the Megaman 3 Team. Who can stop them from littering our planet with their garbage?? Read "Littering is Bad For Our Planet!" by me - Gauntlet!

The Guestbook has returned. I think the insanity has died down by now. At any rate, it's now being maintained by Geminiman, not I.

Also returned is the roms section featuring pirate and freeware roms. If you don't get my meaning it has LEGAL NONCOMMERCIAL roms. No licensed Megaman games. Find your illegal stuff elsewhere, you hooligans! The Mechanical Maniacs respects and maintains the integrity of the video game industry and will never aid you all in your evil quest to rip them off! *laughs* You can find pirate games in there though. Kick ass rare pirate games which is what I love about the emulation scene.

The image gallery now includes the Super Transforming Metool animation I made of the 8-bit metool. A 328 frame animation. It's probably the LAST animation I'm gonna do for a very long time. Also new in the gallery is Neo Geo Pocket single sprites. Rare as can be these sprites can be found no where else! Well, that is until Sprites Inc. finally gets around to fully ripping them.

And now the Game Graphics section has been fully completed. I had originally planned on stretching out the releases for the level maps over a long course of time, however, I decided to stop playing these games and so the section now has the last of the MM3 robot master level maps available for you to download!

I also found a new team to the links section. However, it had already disbanded when I found it. Cossack's Soldiers. If you know of any Megaman team NOT on my list, whether it be active or disbanded tell me. Updating that list is a fun hobby! I also added the Ultimate Megaman X and Zero Webpage to the links section. They were kind enough to host us, and their site beats all anyway!

Lastly, and most importantly, I have added a new, long-awaited section. The manga scans featuring selected art from the Rockman Megamix mangas! The selection is pretty decent and is sure to grow with time! No, these are not the same images you've seen in a dozen other Megaman sites, these images have been scanned by me, Gauntlet, from my own collection. Satisfaction guaranteed!!

epilogues, Game Graphics, PAL boxes

A hefty update this week. Geminiman's journey begins today in an epilogue made by him called Spirit of the Sword. What dark secret is locked in his past? And why do these people seem to know him!? The Game Graphics section gets updated with another level map! Magnetman! PAL box art has been added to the Image Gallery. Bonus stuff: I compare the PAL boxes to the US and Japan stuff as well! A Mechanical Maniacs exclusive! View the rare pictures!

Epilogue Character Quiz, MIDI Boom Box, images

A joint project with Gary of the Sinister Six, we created a "Which epilogue character Would You Be?' quiz! It encompasses both our epilogue series and even some of the X-Force. A must-see for both fans of our epilogues ... and fans of quizzes! And if you're a fan of neither, well .... check it out anyway!!! You can find it either on the left frame or the Epilogues section!

The MIDI Boom Box has been updated with MIDIs taken from our pals, the late Cossack's Creations. Since Skull founded this site, I don't think he'd mind us using his MIDIs. We were good friends before he had to leave the community. Also added is something I've been waiting to add for a long, long time....... credits for the MIDIs. They are listed in the player. I see writing these MIDIs as difficult to do as drawing a picture and the authors deserve credit, so contributers are listed. I would have done so sooner, but I didn't have the right program to let me make MIDIs before.

Added more images to the gallery. This time one of Lennon Forte Chan drew, and a variant colored version which Lennon colored. I also added screen shots of the MMX Beta once featured in Nintendo Power. Good show!

Also, Sparkman, if you'r reading this, I've been trying to get ahold of you for quite a while now! So, I'm asking you to drop me a line. Very important.

epilogue, MIDI Boom Box, images, pirate games

This week sees yet another hefty update. First an all-new all-different epilogue is up! Remember those old MIDIs that I used to have up in the background? Well, I took them down because they were getting tedious, however, I always intended to use them again. Well, their back - in MIDI Boom Box form! Now one can click on the link and have a pop-up window that allows you to select any song you wish to hear from our archive! The selection is meager at this point, but rest assured it will grow depending on my attention span concerning this project. This also means no more Midis in the bios. They would interfere with the MIDI player. *next day update* the bio's MIDIs remain unaffected, they just get louder, so the BG MIDI stays on. I'm a lazy, lazy man.... I added more Lysekoid-stuff to the image gallery. The Skull Castles! Go check 'em out! I added ones that aren't found in the section at Mega Land. Maybe next some organization to the images is in order..... More added to the pirate games section! Probably the last update for that section for a while. NEW tanks have been added to help users see which ones are new, or have been updated. In forum news, I added posticons! Of course those of you who visit the forum already know this. But for those of you who don't you may wanna check it out and see my recoloration mastery!

images, links

Added Classi Cal's link to the links section. Also added is everything from my rarities page at Lysekoid's over to the image gallery. I figured that, since I did gather them, I could use them as content for my own section. Considering how much they bulk up that section, I may just find a more efficient way of organizing them all sometime. But for now enjoy the slew of rarities and obscure items! Look forward to new updates in the pirate games page, for I have found new scans to go there. As well as my guides which may or may not have any relevance to anyone at all! And also be sure to tune in for the next installment of our bi-weekly epilogue adventures. Our deeds of daring will be sure to thrill and amaze all!
